You can encourage people to support your cause. Blogging can be a powerful tool that allows you to reach into people’s homes and minds. Use it widely.

In this article, we will explore 15 reasons why blogging is not just a great idea, but also why you should start blogging yourself.

A. SHOULD I START BLOGGING?

This might be a question you’re asking yourself right now, or it might be a question you’ve asked yourself in the past. When it was my turn to ask the question, I hesitated. My main concern was that with so many voices out there, how would mine be different? Only when I realized the importance of blogging, that my voice and opinions mattered, and that there were others out there who felt the same way as I did, did I start my own blog. It was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

However, starting a blog also involves a series of other information that could make the journey easier. There are things to consider, such as which blogging platform to use, whether to use WordPress.com or WordPress.org when deciding to use WordPress, as well as how to set up and configure your blog, among many other platforms.

B. WHY SHOULD YOU START BLOGGING?

1. WRITING A BLOG IS REALLY NOT THAT DIFFICULT

Blogging is surprisingly easy. Most people struggle with the question, ‘What should I blog about?’ However, at its core, it’s essentially a stream of your consciousness, where you record your thoughts and ideas. It’s also a documentation of your life and the things you’ve seen and done. Creating and curating content can be a continuous process that you carry out with minimal effort. However, the setup is the hardest part. This becomes easier with services like WordPress that provide you with a reasonable and fully functional platform, making everything much easier to manage. Once you’ve set up, configured, and enhanced your blog, all that’s left is to add content and be consistent. Readers need consistency to fully engage.

2. IT CAN BE A LITTLE CHALLENGING

While blogging and creating content can be easy, it can sometimes also be challenging. This may seem contradictory, but it’s not. Blogging can be a challenge as it can require a lot of effort and intellect, especially when coming up with things to blog about. Blogging is a commitment. It’s about consistency and it’s also about a lot of work. It’s hard to sit down and write consistently. Writing in any form, whether fiction or non-fiction, requires you to expose yourself, and that can be scary, difficult, or challenging, but it yields great results. Once you’ve overcome the furnace of challenges, you’ll do better. Challenges are good because they show us who we are.

3. WRITING A BLOG IS YOUR OWN PERSONAL DIARY

What should my blog be about?

Time passes and each day brings something new. Memories are wonderful and they can stay with us forever. However, they can easily be lost. That’s why keeping a personal diary can be so important. It helps us preserve those important memories in a crystallized form. It’s a medium for us to write down our emotions and own them, regardless of whether they fade in our minds over time. Writing a diary and blogging is a purifying medium, where you can write everything down on paper or online for that matter, to reflect on later. It’s a permanent medium to always have that moment of yourself. Later, you can use them to look back and see who you were and where you are now.

4. IT’S A GREAT WAY TO REFLECT

Through self-reflection, you can identify your pitfalls and strengths. This is an important skill and habit to have.

Blogging is a medium to nurture this habit. As mentioned earlier, blogging is about telling your story, whether it’s through pictures, event narratives, or even music. All these are ways for you to look back at yourself and reflect.

The process of blogging creates a unique opportunity, as it allows you not only to tell your story but also to see how far you’ve come. Another advantage is that you can ask others to comment on your story and unique perspectives.

5. IT’S A MEANS TO MEET NEW PEOPLE

If you’re the type of person who enjoys social interaction, likes people, and enjoys engaging, then blogging will provide you with a medium to have a great time. Besides people signing up for your subscription forms, these anonymous subscribers can easily become lifelong friends. Since you can use your blog as a medium to run a business, you have the potential to meet new clients or build relationships with business partners. Surprisingly, blogging can be a place where you might meet your life partner. Love has blossomed many times thanks to technical things like the internet.

6. IT IS A MEANS OF KEEPING IN CONTACT

Another reason to blog is that as we age, we lose touch with old acquaintances. People we thought we could never live without. Indeed, we grow apart from people as we age, but through blogging, we can reconnect with those we thought we would never see again. Blogging has connected the world and if we have an ex-lover or an old friend, they can reach out to us through our blog. One aspect of blogging is helping people stay in touch with what’s happening in your world. You can easily let your loved ones and others know about what’s happening in your life. Business partners will know about your new services or improvements over old ones.

7. IT’S A GREAT HOBBY

Life is made up of the hobbies we pursue and excel at. These are the spices of life and make life much more beautiful. Blogging can be just that. It’s a wonderful hobby that allows you to use your time effectively. It’s both relaxing and cleansing, allowing you to get rid of negative emotions and thoughts. As a hobby, it’s also very easy to find people who share your interests and worldview.

8. IT CAN HELP YOU BECOME AN EXPERT IN A RIGHT FIELD

One of the key success factors of any business is meeting the needs of a specific segment. In many ways, blogging is the same. Once you’ve identified your blogging niche, you’ll find yourself writing and blogging for that niche. Over time, you’ll delve deeper into that field and gain expert-level knowledge on topics related to that field, thanks to the experience you gain over time while blogging. This reason alone drives many people to blogging when they ask themselves: Why start blogging?

9. IT’S A WAY TO HELP OTHERS

If you’re asking why people write blogs, the answer is quite simple. Blogs cater to specific niches. They inform, educate, and in many ways, help people avoid potentially costly financial or even emotional mistakes. When you share your story on a blog, through articles or photos, you allow others to see that they are not alone in their particular journey. This is very important. There are many people in the world seeking connection. A friend of mine, who is also a blogger, has resonated with her followers by spending most of her online time running an emotional crisis helpline and has helped countless people overcome emotional crises through her videos and blog posts. Blogging allows you to reach audiences that you might not easily reach through other means, and through this, you can help people, some of whom might not even think they need help.

10. THAT’S THE WAY TO MAKE THE WORLD A BETTER PLACE

I believe that at the core, most people desire to make a positive change in the world. Most people want to leave the world a better place than when they entered it, and this is one of the reasons why blogging is important as it allows you to do this. Your unique voice, expressed through your blog, can be a tool for significant social change.

With the level of connectivity in the world, you can reach a much larger audience and potentially help many people. This also contributes to making the world a better place. The reality is that you can use your blog to draw attention to a specific issue, thereby getting your audience to think and talk about that issue, possibly helping to change and resolve the issue, thus making the world a much better place.

11. POSITIVE COMMENTS CAN BRING YOU A BIG FEVER

When you have a good following on your blog, you will increasingly receive feedback on your work. This means your target audience can let you know how you’re doing and how your work affects them. This can be a great source of encouragement when you’re feeling uncertain. It can also reassure you that you’re doing well in your efforts to deliver great content and establish credibility in your chosen field. Ultimately, everyone craves recognition for their hard work and it’s a delight when we receive it. Therefore, receiving positive feedback in your comments can be an amazing rush.

This can be a great source of motivation when you’re feeling unsure. It can also reassure you that your efforts to deliver excellent content and establish credibility in your chosen field are going well. Ultimately, everyone craves recognition for their hard work and it’s a joy when we receive it. Therefore, receiving positive feedback in your comments can be an amazing thrill.
