1. Download the Windows gadget file: First, you need to download the Windows gadget file. 2. Search for the gadget on software download websites and the developer’s website: Nowadays, most Windows gadgets are stored on software download websites and the gadget developer’s website. This means you need to search for the gadget you want on these websites. You can search for the name of the gadget you want on your web browser, then choose a reputable software download website or the developer’s website to download. Make sure you download from a reliable source to avoid security issues.
3. Download and install the gadget: After you have found the gadget you want, download it and then install it on your computer. Typically, you will download a .gadget or .zip file. If it is a .zip file, you need to unzip it to get the .gadget file. Then, you just double-click on the .gadget file to install the gadget.

Instead, what happens is that the gadget is simply not installed on the desktop anymore. This is similar to removing a shortcut to a program from your desktop – the program itself is still installed on your computer, but there’s no longer a shortcut to it on the desktop. In other words, the gadget is still available to Windows and is still on your computer like any other program, but there just isn’t a shortcut to it on the desktop.
- Availability of the gadget to Windows: Even though the gadget is not installed on the desktop, it is still available to Windows.
